- In a career spanning 35 years, Senator Boehm has served the Government of Canada in capacities including embassy diplomat, ambassador to Germany, deputy minister of the G7, and personal representative to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
- In his early career with the Canadian government, Senator Boehm worked as a diplomat in Havana, Cuba, and San Jose, Costa Rica. He concurrently received accreditation while in San Jose to Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, and Panama.
