Marilou McPhedran

Youngest lawyer to be named a Member of the Order of Canada

  • Senator Marilou McPhedran has a long and distinguished career as a human rights lawyer, working to promote human rights through systemic reform in law, medicine, education and governance. She previously taught as a professor at the University of Winnipeg Global College.
  • She was granted an honorary doctorate of laws degree from the University of Winnipeg in 1992 and completed her master's degree (LL.M.) in comparative constitutional law at Osgoode Hall in 2004.
