Larry Smith

Former football player, CEO of a CFL team and CFL Commissioner

  • Senator Larry Smith was a fullback with the Montreal Alouettes from 1972 to 1980, before becoming president and chief executive officer of the Alouettes from 1997 to 2001 and again from 2004 to 2013. His son Bradley was a receiver with the Toronto Argonauts and the Edmonton Eskimos.
  • He was commissioner of the Canadian Football League (CFL) before joining the Alouettes executive and oversaw the CFL American expansion.
