Police officer for 39 years and Quebec police association president
- From 1972 to 2011, Jean-Guy Dagenais served as a peace officer with Sûreté du Québec, inspired by his father who spent 30 years with the Montreal police. During his time there he held numerous positions including patrolman, investigator, team leader, and education relations officer with schools. He was also a contributing member of the communications division and the VIP security service.
- He has worked with the Association des policières et policiers provinciaux du Québec since 1984, culminating in his election as president in 2004.
