Former Liberal MP and founding member of the Progressive Senate Group

  • Early in his career, Dawson was elected as one of the youngest school board trustees in Quebec and was later elected as chairman of Québec's second largest school board.
  • From 1977 to 1984, Senator Dawson served three terms as the Liberal member of parliament for Louis-Hébert. During that period he held the position as parliamentary secretary for employment and immigration and for labour, and also chaired the Quebec Liberal caucus.
