  • Senator Dan Christmas is credited with playing a key role in transforming his home community of Membertou First Nation from a community on the brink of bankruptcy to one of the most successful in Canada. He is also the former director of advisory services for the Union of Nova Scotia Indians.
  • Christmas is a senior advisor to the Membertou First Nation with experience in Aboriginal and treaty rights, youth, justice, policing, education, health care, human rights, adult training, business development and the environment.
