Claude Carignan

Former law professor and Saint-Eustache mayor

  • Senator Carignan served as leader of the opposition in the Senate from November 2015 to March 2017. Prior to that, he served as senate leader from September 2013 to November 2015 and as deputy leader from May 2011 to September 2013.
  • He holds a law degree from the Université de Sherbrooke and a graduate degree in administrative law from the Université de Montréal. Following his admission to the Quebec Bar in 1988 he practiced law, specializing in civil litigation, labour relations and health and social services law.
