Chief economist and former special advisor to deputy finance minister
- Gignac's career has spanned both the private and public spheres, and he most recently has served as chief economist and senior vice-president for iA Financial Group. Before joining iA in 2012, he was chief economist and vice-president for National Bank Financial, and served as a special advisor to the deputy finance minister during the 2008-2009 financial crisis.
- Gignac has held public office before, and won election to the National Assembly of Québec in 2009 as the representative for Marguerite-Bourgeoys, which was followed by his appointment as Quebec's Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade. In 2011 he moved to the ministerial portfolio for natural resources and wildlife.
