Carolyn Stewart Olsen

- Senator Carolyn Stewart Olsen was a registered nurse for 20 years, specializing in emergency and trauma care. Following 10 years as an emergency room nurse in New Brunswick, Ontario and Quebec, she was appointed head nurse for the ambulatory care department at Grace Hospital, Ottawa in 1986, and later nursing manager for emergency, recovery room, ambulatory care and CSR departments at Carleton Place Hospital.
- Stewart Olsen began a career in communications as a volunteer for the Reform Party in 1993. She worked for MP Deborah Grey starting in 2000 and for the Democratic Representative Caucus, which broke with Stockwell Day’s leadership, starting in 2001.
