Bev Busson

Order of Canada recipient and first woman to lead the RCMP

  • Born in Halifax, Senator Busson was one of the first women to join the RCMP in 1974.
  • Upon joining the RCMP, she became one of the first women to work in plainclothes and undercover and the first woman to hold the positions of criminal operations officer, commanding officer, and deputy commissioner of a region.
